Conformance

An implementation is a conforming implementation of the DITA for Technical Content specification if it adds support for technical content elements while also conforming to the base DITA specification. A document is a conforming DITA for Technical Content document if it uses or specializes elements from the DITA for Technical Content specification while also conforming to the base DITA specification.

Are there any additional rules to conform here? For example, implementations must support abbreviated form, or anything else?

TO RESOLVE 18 May 2026: Leave this comment open until closer to the end of editing, and do a quick review looking for any conformance rules that may be required. Most likely candidate is abbreviated form; not sure if there are any others, all of the technical-content based formatting (from book maps, to code phrases and xml mention, to syntax diagrams) seems optional / up to the tool and not something that requires conformance
